Bone Case 6

Details on the Request Card

Previously fit and well 9 year old male who fell while playing cricket and injured left thigh. Plain films have unusual appearance. Refuses MRI without general anaesthesia

Procedure

Anterior and posterior images of the pelvis and lower limbs are shown, 3 hrs after injection

Questions

1) Are there any abnormal areas of uptake?
2) If so, where?
3) Is this likely to be a simple fracture?
4) Does the child need further imaging?
